Cadillac Ciel – Maybe the most beautiful American concept car lately!

Cadillac introduces the Ciel concept, an open-air grand-touring car Thursday, August 18, 2011 in Carmel, California. The Ciel - pronounced "C-L," the French translation for sky - is a four-seat convertible powered by a twin-turbocharged version of the 3.6-liter Direct Injection V-6 engine, paired with a hybrid system using lithium-ion battery technology. Cadillac Ciel remembers us the times when the American cars were as large as studios and consumed as an industrial equipment. Being a massive car, this new model is a tribute to motor-car excellence which imposes respect through brand image tradition.

The American builders are an endless source of surprises. By releasing a new model from time to time they manage to leave us stunned with admiration. And the result is at least spectacular. The luxury class Cabriolet, a fearless enemy of German limousine, has 4 seats, over 5 meters length and almost 2 meters width. The large car doors open in opposite directions, as the Rolls Royce Phantom does, offering an elegant access to every seat, the four seats being created just like real armchairs.  Otherwise, Cadillac Ciel seems to be an implied dedication for Hollywood stars for several decades.

A metal mountain, with an extremely imposing frontal side, made of very thin vertical line auto headlights, Cadillac Ciel has a far from discrete pentagonal auto grid. Cadillac Ciel has the role to bring back to life sweet memories even to the oldest Americans who lived in the 70’s.

Like a true four wheels yacht, the limousine’ s interior is simply luxurious, having been used almost excessively wood and leather, in order to create not only a pompous, but warm and even romantic atmosphere, an important part being represented in the same time by the colors and lightning mixture.

Having the look that it has it Cadillac Ciel Concept shouldn’t have under its hood anything else but a 6 l V8. But the things aren’t  this way.  The times changed and now everything has to get through ecological filters. The car is being pushed by a hybrid system, consisting in a biturbo 3.6 l V6, whose maximum power is no less than 425 HP.

The new Concept has an all-wheel-drive chassis. The tensile is integral and because the limousine is probably far from a serial version, the Americans don’t bother to give us any pieces of information about its dynamic performances. Well..  they don’t have any reason to do the opposite. This new car doesn’t mean speeding and accelerations, but cruising along California.

The new Ciel Concept from Cadillac comes equipped with a 22 inches aluminum wheels set, and according to GM, its suspension has a single pipe damper and both front and rear stabilizer. The braking system of the new Ciel has ventilated disc brakes and a front 6 pistons caliper and a rear 4 pistons caliper.

The luxurious limousine prices haven’t been revealed to the public  yet.
